Ibtihal Hamie Janbay
My name is Ibtihal Hamie Janbay. My BS in Environmental Sciences was obtained from Notre Dame University in Beirut, Lebanon. My first Ms. in Environmental Management was obtained from the University of San Francisco in San Francisco, California and my second Ms. in Environmental Engineering was obtained from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. Currently, I obtained my Doctorate from Grand Canyon University with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership and Development in Higher Education. I feel blessed to serve at the IEFAZ school and assist our young generation throughout this amazing life-changing adventure as an educator.
On a professional scale, I worked as an environmental health and safety specialist, an environmental engineering researcher, an industrial hygienist, and a green entrepreneur consultant with UNDP. In 2014, teaching in higher education became my favorite workplace where I had the privilege to teach in private and public educational institutions. At this time, I am a professor that teaches chemistry and environmental sciences at one of Maricopa Community Colleges and at GCU.
When I am not at work or school, my husband Labib who is a telecommunication engineer and I, are Alhamdulillah enjoying raising three beautiful kids Sara (16), Ali (14), and Adam Mohamad (10). We enjoy travel, sports, food, and being with great friends and family.
With Allah’s blessings!

This institute enables us to take teaching to heart with its utmost importance by providing the best possible Islamic education for our young Muslim children and teens.
This will allow them to appreciate and embrace Islam, creating a valuable place in society with strong faith and practicing Muslims in everyday life. They will Inshallah become great future leaders.
2021 - 2022 ACADEMIC YEAR
After the last 2 great and successful years of our School, IEFAZ is very pleased to announce the beginning of another great year in Arizona. We will continue to teach using the very best tools and curriculum based on ‘Shia Ithna-Asheri School of Islamic Thought’.The IEFAZ Islamic school is affiliated with the Az-Zahra Madressah & Academy in Minnesota and caters all children from kindergarteners and older. The classes will be held at the current IEFAZ location in Mesa, AZ. IEFAZ will extend the School another hour for an interactive sports play and coaching. As it is said:
“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.”
It is requested, encouraged and recommended for all to attend and see for themselves how this institute will be extremely beneficial in enhancing the knowledge of our kids and enlighten their hearts with the correct understanding of Islam and the Holy Quran. This will serve as a great opportunity for all to gain first-hand knowledge of the structure and vision of our multicultural school. You will also have a chance to register your kids for the upcoming school year and ask any questions or address any concerns that you may have.
If anyone is interested in teaching this year, please let us know as your help will be highly appreciated. May Allah (swt) reward you all for your efforts and bless you with His very best blessings always.
